This is a thistle made from a steel ball with a rebar stem.
The top is made from around 100 nails individually cut and welded in place by hand.
The diamond style pattern is cut into the sphere by hand too.
 
Each thistle is treated with an exterior clear coat for protection and has a 30cm stem.
The base options are a hardwood around 12cm square or a 10cm diameter metal disc.
